Waffles in Prague: Sweet or Savoury? A Guide to Our Menu
Waffles are our speciality – it's in our name. At Coffee & Waffles in Prague's Old Town we serve them two ways: sweet, as a dessert or a treat with coffee, and savoury, as a full breakfast or lunch. Can't decide? Here's a guide to help you choose.
Savoury waffles: a full meal on a waffle
A savoury waffle replaces bread or toast. It's crispy, slightly less sweet and works as a base for eggs, fish, meat or cheese. These are the options on our menu:
- Avocado waffle – avocado, guacamole, egg, microgreens and pomegranate
- Fresh salmon waffle – salmon, egg, balsamic and dill
- Waffle with pulled beef – with red sauerkraut, baby spinach and BBQ sauce
- Waffle with duck and egg – duck leg, fried egg, pumpkin, tomatoes, chilli and orange sauce
- Caprese waffle – mozzarella, tomatoes, pesto and balsamic
- and also chicken & guacamole, arugula with goat cheese, onion marmalade with bacon, or ham & cheese
Sweet waffles: dessert or breakfast with coffee
For a sweet tooth, we have both classic and more unusual combinations:
- Strawberry waffle or fruit waffle with maple syrup or Nutella
- Pistachio waffle with pistachio cream, mint sauce and pistachios
- Trio choco – cocoa waffle with dark chocolate sauce, cream cheese with milk chocolate and white chocolate soufflé
- Apple strudel waffle – apple, walnuts, cinnamon, raisins and whipped cream
- Hot cherry waffle with sour cream, caramel, Oreo or ice cream waffle
Seasonal waffles
Every season we add a few specials. This autumn it's a pear & lingonberry waffle with cream and a savoury camembert & prosciutto waffle with salad leaves, grapes, walnuts and honey. Seasonal items change, so check the current menu.
How to choose
- Hungry or it's lunchtime? Go savoury – the duck, beef or salmon waffle is a full meal.
- Want something lighter? Try the avocado or caprese waffle.
- Coming for coffee and dessert? Pistachio, trio choco or apple strudel.
- Two people? Order one sweet and one savoury and share – that's the best way to taste both.
Frequently asked questions
Are your waffles sweet or savoury?
Both. We have a full section of savoury waffles (with eggs, salmon, duck, beef, avocado or cheese) and a section of sweet waffles (with fruit, chocolate, pistachio, caramel and more).
Can I order waffles for breakfast in the afternoon?
Yes. Breakfast and all waffles are served all day, every day from 8:00 to 20:00.
Do you have gluten-free waffles?
Yes. Gluten-free waffles are prepared in the same waffle maker as classic waffles. We try to reduce traces of gluten as much as possible, but we cannot completely eliminate them.
Are there vegetarian waffles?
Yes – for example the avocado waffle, the caprese waffle, the arugula waffle with goat cheese and all sweet waffles.
